COVID-19 first dose vaccine coverage reaches 99 percent in Syangja

WALING, Dec 20: 99 percent of people above 18 years of age in Syangja district have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines so far, according to the District Health Office, Syangja.

WALING, Dec 20: 99 percent of people above 18 years of age in Syangja district have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines so far, according to the District Health Office, Syangja.



Of the total 163,840 people above 18 years, 162,382 have been administered the first dose, said the Chief of District Health Office Basundhara Sharma.

Sharma said that a total of 119,785 people have been vaccinated fully as of Friday. The vaccines administered to the target group included Vero Cell, Covishield, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. “Preparations are underway to administer a second dose,” said Sharma.


Preparations are currently underway to administer the vaccines to the people between the age group 12-17, according to Sharma.
