KATHMANDU, April 17: Meetings of 12 thematic committees under the Federal Parliament is taking place today.
The election for the presidents of 12 committees-- 10 committees under the HoR and two of joint committees (HoR and National Assembly) has been scheduled today.
Under the HoR, Dr Krishna Hari Budhathoki has filed nomination to the post of chairperson of Finance Committee while Sunnima Udas for chairperson of InternationalRelations and Tourism Committee, Rahabar Ansari for chairperson of Industry and Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee, Samikshya Baskota for chairperson of Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, Hati Dhakal for chairperson of State Affairs and Good Governance Committee and Bharat Bahadur Khadka for chairperson of Public Accounts Committee.

Similarly, Ashish Gajurel has filed his nomination to the post of chairperson of Women and Social Affairs Committee, Ashok Chaudhary for chairperson of Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee, Dr Ojaswi Sherchan of Rastriya Swatantra Party and Guru Prasad Baral of the CPN (UML) for chairperson of Education, Health and Information Technology.
Under the joint committee of the Federal Parliament, Bodh Narayan Shrestha has filed nomination to the post of chairperson of Parliamentary Hearing Committee while Ganesh Karki of RSP and Madan Kumari Shah (Garima) of the Nepali Communist Party for chairperson of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of the Directive Principles State's Directive Principles, Policies and Obligations of the State Committee.
Elected presidents would take oath of office and secrecy at 4:00 PM today. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal would administer oath of office and secrecy to the new chairpersons.
