1,592 vehicles penalized for traffic offenses; over Rs 2 million collected in revenue

KATHMANDU, June 30: The Traffic Police have taken action against 1,592 vehicles for violating traffic rules in the last 24 hours.

Office Spokesperson Naresh Raj Subedi informed that action was taken against 73 people for driving under the influence of intoxicants, 87 for ride-sharing violations, 74 for failing to obey red lights, 78 for excessive speeding, and 47 for not following lane discipline in the past 24 hours.


Similarly, he said that 87 were penalized for using dark windows in vehicles, 56 for honking in “no horn” zones, 32 for driving on one-way streets, and 1,058 for other offenses.


Recently, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police have intensified monitoring of vehicles that do not follow traffic rules.
