19 Dhankuta leaders quit NC citing ideological differences

KATHMANDU, July 5: Nineteen leaders and cadres of the Nepali Congress (NC) in Dhankuta have resigned from the party, citing ideological differences and a lack of a conducive working environment.



Those quitting include former Constituent Assembly member and general council representative Anjana Tamli. The group submitted a joint resignation letter to party president Gagan Thapa.

Among the signatories are Koshi Province committee member Meena Rai, regional committee member Yuben Tumba, regional representative Rajkumari, and 15 active party members.


In the resignation letter, the leaders said persistent ideological differences within the party and the lack of an environment to work effectively had compelled them to leave the Nepali Congress.
