1,922 booked for traffic violations in Kathmandu Valley in 24 hours

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 92 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 78 for operating ride-sharing services in violation of regulations, 129 for running red lights and 139 for overspeeding.

KATHMANDU, June 28: Traffic police booked 1,922 motorists for violating traffic rules across the Kathmandu Valley over the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 511,501 in revenue.



According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 92 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 78 for operating ride-sharing services in violation of regulations, 129 for running red lights and 139 for overspeeding.

Police also penalised 41 motorists for violating lane discipline, 67 for using horns in prohibited areas, 10 for operating vehicles with black-tinted windows and 70 for driving on one-way roads.


The remaining 1,296 motorists were booked for various other traffic rule violations, the office said.
