2,000 booked for traffic rule violations, over Rs 2 million collected in fines

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 61 motorists were penalized for driving under the influence of alcohol, 129 for illegally operating ride-sharing services, 61 for running red lights, and 113 for speeding.

KATHMANDU, July 4: Traffic police booked 2,000 motorists for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 2,004,014 in revenue from fines.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 61 motorists were penalized for driving under the influence of alcohol, 129 for illegally operating ride-sharing services, 61 for running red lights, and 113 for speeding.


Similarly, 107 motorists were booked for violating lane discipline, 84 for honking in no-horn zones, 93 for parking on sidewalks, 96 for driving on one-way roads, and 1,256 for other traffic rule violations, bringing the total number of offenders to 2,000.
