2042 booked for traffic violations, generating Rs 1.33 million in revenue

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 56 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 121 for illegally operating ride-sharing services, 87 for running red lights, and 173 for speeding.

KATHMANDU, July 3: Traffic police took action against 2,042 motorists for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 1.33 million in revenue for the state.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 56 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 121 for illegally operating ride-sharing services, 87 for running red lights, and 173 for speeding.


Similarly, 128 motorists were penalized for violating lane discipline, 87 for honking in no-horn zones, 85 for parking on sidewalks, 56 for driving on one-way roads, and 1,249 for other traffic rule violations.
