2,337 booked for traffic rule violations in last 24 hours

75 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 127 for illegal ride-sharing operations, 138 for signal violations, and 148 for speeding.

KATHMANDU, June 10: Traffic police took action against 2,337 motorists for violating traffic rules across the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours, generating over Rs 2.11 million in revenue from fines.



According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, a total of Rs 2,118,503 was collected in revenue from the enforcement drive.

Traffic Police Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi said that 75 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 127 for illegal ride-sharing operations, 138 for signal violations, and 148 for speeding.


Similarly, 70 motorists were penalised for lane discipline violations, 250 for unnecessary horn use in prohibited areas, 138 for parking on sidewalks, 140 for driving on one-way roads, and 1,251 for other traffic rule violations.
