24 Bangladeshi nationals held for illegal stay in Nepal

KATHMANDU, June 26: Nepal Police have arrested 24 Bangladeshi nationals for allegedly residing in Nepal illegally.



A team from the Police Circle, Swayambhu, apprehended the individuals during an operation in the Dallu and Sitapaila areas of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15.

According to Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, and Superintendent of Police, the individuals were found to be staying in Nepal without valid travel documents, including passports, while some had overstayed their tourist visas.


Police said the Bangladeshi nationals were working at garment factories in Dallu, Sitapaila and other parts of Kathmandu when they were detained.


The arrested individuals were handed over to the Department of Immigration in Kalikasthan on Wednesday for further legal proceedings.
