KATHMANDU, May 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday plunged 39.44 points to close at 2,744.40 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,783.85 points and initially rose to day’s high at 2,802.5 points. The index gradually fell to the day’s low at 2,741.42 points in the last six minutes. The market recovered around three points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
Only mutual funds gained 0.04 points. Of the 12 losers, manufacturing and processing plunged by the largest of 189.14 points, which was followed by hotels and tourism with a decline of 162 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased 5.15 points. Daily turnover increased to Rs 4.66 billion from Rs 4.61 billion.
Among the individual companies, 251 were the gainers as 13 lost their charms for the investors. National Hydro Power Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 189.94 million.
First Micro Finance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited witnessed the highest loss of 12.40 percent in its market value. Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited stood as the topmost gainer of 15 percent.
