2,598 booked for traffic violations, generating over Rs 1.7 million in revenue

Traffic police booked 2,598 drivers for violating traffic rules across the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 1.786 million in revenue.

KATHMANDU, June 13: Traffic police booked 2,598 drivers for violating traffic rules across the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 1.786 million in revenue.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 199 drivers for drunk driving, 167 for operating ride-sharing services illegally, 120 for jumping traffic lights, and 168 for overspeeding.


Likewise, 120 drivers were penalized for lane violations, 126 for unnecessary honking in restricted areas, 156 for parking on footpaths, 186 for driving on one-way roads, and 1,356 for other traffic rule violations.
