KATHMANDU, Aug 26: As many as 44 Nepali Army personnel have gone missing following a sudden and devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district on Wednesday.
Nepali Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet said the 44 personnel had not yet made contact with their units.

According to Basnet, the missing personnel had been deployed to provide security for Langtang National Park and various hydropower projects in the district.
The disaster has also affected personnel from other security agencies. As many as 32 Nepal Police personnel and nine Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have also been reported missing following the flood.
Rescue teams have been mobilized to search for the missing security personnel, although access to several affected areas has been severely hampered by damaged roads, bridges and other infrastructure.
