KATHMANDU, May 17: Security forces have seized 590 cartons of electronic cigarettes (vapes) from Lomanthang Rural Municipality–4 in Mustang, along with a container carrying clothing and footwear, and taken three individuals into custody.
According to authorities, the operation was carried out from the Eklebhatti area of Lomanthang, where a joint team of the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and the Mustang Customs Office intercepted two container trucks en route to Kathmandu via the Korala border point.

Those arrested have been identified as Santosh Lama of Dhunibesi Municipality–1 in Dhading, Phunchu Dorje Tamang of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality–2, and Pasang Sherpa of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality–3.
Officials said the containers, bearing registration numbers Na 6 Kha 4743 and Na 5 Kha 7921, were found carrying 590 cartons of electronic cigarettes along with 259 cartons of shoes from various companies, eight sacks of socks, 15 sacks of clothing, and around 15 kg of empty packaging cartons.
The seized goods and containers have been handed over to Mustang Customs Office, while the arrested individuals have been sent to Nepal Police for further investigation and legal action.
