KATHMANDU, July 1: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has said that an Indian Army helicopter entered Nepali airspace due to adverse weather and not with any deliberate or malicious intent.
Responding to lawmakers' questions during a meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Khanal said the incident in Darchula district appeared to have been caused by the area's difficult terrain and weather conditions.

"The Indian helicopter's entry into Nepali territory in Darchula does not appear to have been intentional or driven by any wrongful motive. Given the geographical conditions and adverse weather in the area, the helicopter entered Nepali airspace, and the relevant Nepali authorities and the Indian side are in contact and coordinating on the matter," he told the House.
The incident occurred on June 10, when an Indian Army helicopter entered Nepali airspace without prior permission from the Government of Nepal. The helicopter flew over Chhangru in Byas Rural Municipality-1 of Darchula before heading towards the Kalapani area.
