All rescued after storm strands boaters in Phewa Lake

POKHARA, May 5: All passengers stranded in Pokhara’s Phewa Lake after a sudden storm on Monday afternoon have been safely rescued, according to the police.



A boat capsized during the storm, leaving passengers trapped in the lake. The Armed Police Force (APF) personnel rescued all individuals from the capsized boat, while the Nepal Army personnel rescued two others who were visiting Tal Barahi Temple.

SP Surya Timilsina of the APF’s Kalika Battalion in Malepatan confirmed that everyone rescued is in normal condition. Rain and strong winds continued in Pokhara till Monday evening.
