BAGMATI, May 18: The Inland Revenue Office, Hetauda, has collected around Rs 6 billion in revenue in the 10 months of the current fiscal year 2025/26. According to Office Chief Yukta Prasad Subedi, Rs 5 billion 926 million rupees were collected thanks to an acceleration of arrears collection and market monitoring.
The revenue collection has increased by Rs 341 million compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year 2024/25.
Diversifying Government Revenue
As of mid-May of the current fiscal year, revenue worth Rs 345 million was collected as excise duty, Rs 124 million as income tax, Rs 827 as value added tax, Rs 519 million as health risk tax, Rs 68 million in interest tax and Rs 159 million in rental tax.
According to Chief Subedi, the annual target for revenue collection in the current fiscal year is Rs 8.044 billion.
Chief Subedi said that over Rs 100 million in old dues have been recovered by conducting campaigns including visiting taxpayers' homes, making inquiries via telephone and SMS and introducing tax rebate and exemptions.
