KATHMANDU, July 4: Divers from the Armed Police Force (APF)'s Disaster Management Training School have been mobilized to search for the submerged vehicle and missing passengers in the Karnali River.
The passenger vehicle and its passengers went missing after it veered off the Karnali Highway in Sangetada, Ward No. 7 of Chamundabindrasaini Municipality in Dailekh.
A four-member team of divers led by APF Police Inspector Prem Bahadur Tamang reached the accident site today to search for the missing vehicle and passengers.

APF spokesperson Shailendra Thapa said the team will use equipment such as sonar cameras and magnets, which are used for searching submerged objects and riverbeds.
The passenger vehicle (Karnali Province 02-001 Kha 1055), en route to Kalikot from Surkhet, plunged about 600–700 meters into the Karnali River on July 2.
Immediately after the accident, a team of six divers from the Armed Police Gulma, Dailekh; the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project Security Base; and the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 6 Maheshwori Battalion Headquarters, Surkhet, was deployed for the rescue operation.
On the same day, the body of a man was recovered after it was found lodged on a cliff about 400 meters below the accident site.
The whereabouts of the vehicle and the other passengers remain unknown.
