Around 80,000 leave Kathmandu in two days as the movement of voters rises

As the election approaches, major bus parks and exit points in the valley are experiencing heavy traffic. Long-distance buses are crowded as voters travel to their districts to prepare for casting their votes.

KATHMANDU, March 1: The number of voters traveling from the Kathmandu Valley to their home districts to cast ballots in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election has increased significantly.



According to Pankaj Malla, head of Human Resources at private transport service provider Lotse Multipurpose Organization, 374 and 317 public buses operated on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Over these two days, nearly 80,000 passengers left the valley.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Sunil Jung Shah, also confirmed that approximately 80,000 people have departed in the past two days.
