KATHMANDU, April 4: Nepal Police on Saturday arrested artist Sagar Lamsal, popularly known as Bale, from Budhanilkantha.
According to police sources, the arrest follows allegations of rape made by a woman currently living in the United States. She publicly shared the accusation on social media on Friday, claiming that the incident took place a year ago during Lamsal’s visit to the US.

In her post, the woman detailed that Lamsal, whom she had considered like a brother, raped her under the pretext of visiting her apartment. She wrote that the trauma left her unable to speak out at the time, fearing it would harm her family. She also described the lasting impact of the incident on her mental and emotional health, stating that it continues to haunt her daily.
The woman said she finally found the courage to speak out, hoping that Lamsal will face justice and that such an incident does not happen to anyone else. She also revealed that she has struggled with depression since childhood.
Police have taken Lamsal into custody for further investigation.
