CHITWAN, June 29: Bharatpur Hospital has secured the highest score among federal hospitals in the latest Minimum Service Standards (MSS) assessment conducted by the Ministry of Health and Population's Quality Measurement and Regulation Division.
The hospital scored 89 points in the nationwide evaluation of 14 federal hospitals, according to the division.
The BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan ranked second with 77 points, followed by the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences with 71 points. The assessment of Patan Hospital is still underway.

Dr. Shriram Tiwari, coordinator of the Quality Measurement and Regulation Division, said the evaluation found Bharatpur Hospital to have the highest level of compliance with the ministry's minimum service standards among federal hospitals.
The ministry uses 1,497 indicators to assess the quality of hospital services. Bharatpur Hospital had also topped last year's assessment with 88 points.
Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Bishwa Bandari Bagale said the hospital had further improved its service quality compared to the previous fiscal year and would continue efforts to enhance healthcare services.
