KATHMANDU, May 16: The Birgunj Customs Office (BCO) has collected Rs 199.40 billion in revenue during 10 months of the current fiscal year.
According to the BCO, the collected amount was 89.35 percent of the target that the customs office received for the given period. The BCO has a target to collect revenue of Rs 223.18 billion during mid-July 2025 and mid-May 2026.

Information Officer of the BCO Uday Singh Bista said the revenue collection of the customs office was satisfactory in the review period. According to him, petroleum products, automobiles and related parts were the major imports.
Monthly data shows that the office collected Rs 18.44 billion in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), Rs 20.73 billion in Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), Rs 19.09 billion in Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October), Rs 17.33 billion in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), and Rs 20.80 billion in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December). Similarly, Rs 20.20 billion was collected in Poush (mid-December to mid-January), Rs 18.92 billion in Magh (mid-January to mid-February), Rs 19.34 billion in Falgun (mid-February to mid-March), and Rs 22.82 billion in Chaitra (mid-March to mid-April).
Likewise, the BCO collected revenue worth Rs 21.74 billion last month. The annual revenue target for the office has been set at Rs 273.39 billion.
