PARSA, June 25: The Birgunj Customs Office collected Rs 221.78 billion in revenue during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2025/26.
The office had set a revenue collection target of Rs 249.19 billion for the review period but achieved 89 percent of the target.
According to Information Officer Uday Singh Bista, revenue collection during the review period has been encouraging.
“Compared to the first 11 months of the previous fiscal year, revenue collection increased by 9 percent, or Rs 17.97 billion,” he said.
Birgunj Customs collects Rs 236.31 billion as revenue
The office had collected Rs 203.81 billion in revenue during the corresponding period of fiscal year 2024/25.
The Department of Customs had assigned the office an annual revenue target of Rs 273.39 billion.
Revenue collection stood at Rs 18.44 billion in July/August, Rs 20.74 billion in August/September, Rs 19.09 billion in September/October, Rs 17.33 billion in October/November, and Rs 20.80 billion in November/December.
Similarly, the office collected Rs 20.20 billion in December/January, Rs 18.92 billion in January/February, Rs 19.34 billion in February/March, Rs 22.82 billion in March/April, Rs 21.74 billion in April/May, and Rs 22.32 billion in May/June.
According to the customs office, goods worth Rs 890.07 billion were imported through the Birgunj border point during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.
In the same period of the previous fiscal year, imports through the checkpoint were valued at Rs 770 billion.
Exports through the Birgunj customs point totaled Rs 99.66 billion during the review period, compared to Rs 96.72 billion in the corresponding period of fiscal year 2024/25.
