Bus accident in Rolpa leaves 12 injured

ROLPA, June 22: Twelve people were injured after a bus overturned in Rolpa district along the Ghorahi–Thawang Shaheed Marg road section.

The accident occurred at Kholewang in Madi Rural Municipality–2 when a bus (Ra 1 Kha 3101) travelling from Thawang to Ghorahi reportedly lost its brakes while climbing an uphill section and overturned on the road, police said.

There were 29 passengers on board, including the driver.

Twelve passengers sustained minor injuries and were rescued and taken to Smriti Hospital in Ghartigaun, Madi Rural Municipality–2 for treatment, according to police.

Following the accident, the road has been blocked, and the bus remains at the incident site. Further details are yet to be confirmed.
