KATHMANDU, June 8: Civil servants across Nepal will now be able to access health services provided by the Civil Service Hospital at the provincial level.

The move comes under a policy of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration to expand the services of the Civil Service Hospital beyond Kathmandu through provincial hospitals.
According to Minister Pratibha Rawal, the initiative aims to make healthcare services more accessible for civil servants, retired civil servants, and their dependent family members living and working outside the Kathmandu Valley.
The ministry said agreements have begun with provincial hospitals to provide quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare services to civil servants, retired employees, and their dependents.
In the first phase, civil servants in Madhesh Province will receive services through Narayani Hospital, while those in Bagmati Province will be served through Bharatpur Hospital. Beneficiaries will receive the same discounts and concessions available at the Civil Service Hospital in Kathmandu.
Following agreements signed with the two hospitals on Sunday, the services officially come into operation today, Monday. To access the benefits, serving or retired civil servants must present an official identity card issued by the Civil Service Hospital.
The ministry said hospitals have already been identified in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene to expand the service to other provinces as well.
Necessary preparations are underway, and the ministry expects civil servants across all provinces to begin receiving discounted and subsidized healthcare services through designated hospitals within the next few days.
