KATHMANDU, July 14: The share transaction amount in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday crossed Rs 8 billion, almost after three months of witnessing slump in a single day turnover volume.
Last time the NEPSE witnessed the daily turnover amount of Rs 9.31 billion on April 16. Over the period, the daily turnover even came down to as low as Rs 2 billion.
Nepse hits 2-year high after week's broad surge
Meanwhile, the NEPSE rose by 6.11 points in the intraday trading on Tuesday and closed at 2,576.29 points. The market index plunged to the day’s low at 2,547.05 points in the first hour before taking a leap.
According to the NEPSE, the price of 164 shares increased on this day, while 101 decreased and 10 remained stable.
Only the manufacturing and processing group lost 18.34 points while remaining 12 groups were recorded as gainers. The trading index surged 47.68 points, the largest of all.
The KBL Debenture 2090 had the largest transaction of Rs 527.18 million. Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited Debenture 2087 was the topmost gainer of 10.22 percent. Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited with a decline of 8.10 percent was recorded as the highest loser.
