DoI approves FDI commitments worth Rs 58 billion

According to the department, 1,116 projects received FDI commitments during the FY.

KATHMANDU, July 18: The Department of Industry (DoI) approved foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments worth Rs 58 billion in the fiscal year (FY) 2025/26. 



According to the department, 1,116 projects received FDI commitments during the FY. Of these, 897 projects with investment commitments worth Rs 9.58 billion were approved through the automatic route, while 219 projects worth Rs 48 billion were approved through the regular approval route.

The manufacturing sector attracted Rs 3 billion in FDI commitments for 63 projects during the FY. Similarly, four energy projects received foreign investment commitments worth Rs 7 billion.


The agriculture sector secured Rs 23 billion in FDI commitments for 18 projects, while the tourism sector received Rs 13 billion for 227 projects. The information technology sector attracted Rs 2.83 billion in foreign investment commitments for 727 projects.
