Domestic airfares cut by up to Rs 2,580 after drop in aviation fuel prices

Domestic airlines companies have reduced airfares to their passengers by up to Rs 2,580 per flight following a Rs 40 per liter reduction in aviation fuel prices by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).

KATHMANDU, July 2: Domestic airlines companies have reduced airfares to their passengers by up to Rs 2,580 per flight following a Rs 40 per liter reduction in aviation fuel prices by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).



Recently, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has slashed aviation fuel prices by Rs 40 per liter. Citing the decline in aviation fuel, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) directed the domestic airlines to immediately reduce fuel surcharges from their ticket fares. The NOC has reduced the price of aviation fuel by 14.87 percent, from Rs 269 per liter to Rs 229 per liter.

At the revised rate, the airfare of Biratnagar-Dhangadhi stands at Rs 14,745, down from Rs 17,325. Likewise, the cost of Nepalgunj-Bhadrapur flight has dropped by Rs 2,335, from Rs 15,725 to Rs 13,390.


The revised rates are expected to give a respite in travel costs for both accessible and remote domestic flight routes.
