KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Nepal Police arrested 99 individuals on charges related to drug trafficking during the month of Magh (January–February), according to the Kathmandu District Police Range.
Police said that during search operations conducted in different areas of Kathmandu, a total of 99 people, including seven women, were arrested with drugs in their possession. Police have registered 65 separate cases against them.

Spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Range, SP Pawan Kumar Bhatta, said that 55.18 grams of brown heroin were seized from the accused. In addition, police confiscated 23,300 tablets of tramadol and 2,813 ampoules of nitrazepam.
Similarly, two kilograms of marijuana, 93 ampoules of diazepam, 62 ampoules of phenargan, 151 ampoules of norphine, and 10 ampoules of nitravet were seized. Police also recovered 126 capsules of Spamo and 678 grams of Poland substance.
Meanwhile, Kathmandu Police reported that 36 suicide cases were recorded in the past one month. Among them, 27 individuals were aged 19-39 years. Of the total cases, 24 were men.
Police further informed that seven cases related to illegal financial transactions were registered, while two cases were settled through mediation. Claims amounting to more than Rs 80 million were involved in those cases.
