Economic Survey of Bagmati unveiled

MAKWANPUR, June 14: Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Bagmati Province Prabhat Tamang presented the Economic Survey of the Province for the current fiscal year 2082/83 in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly today.



The economic survey, as he shared, notes of significant progress in revenue collection within the Province.


Minister Tamang said that a targeted program will be introduced for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 to make every citizen economically prosperous. So far, 800 kilometers of new roads have been completed in various districts of the province while plans for drinking water, irrigation and power development will be implemented.

Road drainage management and upgrading has been carried out in various districts of the province, while additional roads have been blacktopped. He informed an economic plan program will be introduced to boost agricultural production in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84, focusing on the underprivileged communities such as Chepang, Dalit and the indigenous nationalities.


Meanwhile, in today's meeting, the chairs of five different committees under the Provincial Assembly presented the report on behalf of their respective committees. Chair of the Provincial Affairs Committee, Tshering Dorjela, the chair of the Public Accounts Committee, Shreeram Lamichhane, the chair of the Finance and Development Committee, Nuraj Bajracharya, the chair of the Agriculture, Health and Education Committee, Thakur Prasad Dhakal, and the chair of the Industry, Tourism and Environment Committee, Ananda Kumar Shrestha presented their respective committee reports.


Likewise, chair of the Special Rights Committee, Mayadevi Sharma, presented the third report of the committee. 


Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, Apsara Chapagain, adjourned today's meeting, informing that the next meeting will be held at 4:00 PM tomorrow.
