KATHMANDU, June 13: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI) has launched a plan to properly manage telecommunication and internet wires that are hanging in a disorderly manner and left unused in several locations across the Kathmandu Valley over the next two weeks.

Under the campaign, the ministry will manage and remove disordered wires in phases within 15 days in key areas of the Valley, including Tripureshwor–Kalimati–Kalanki, Jadibuti–Pepsicola, Tripureshwor–Lazimpat, Samakhusi Town Planning (Gongabu), Kirtipur, and the Old Baneshwor–Gaushala–Chabahil section.
According to the ministry, the campaign has been intensified in coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The Nepal Electricity Authority has also expedited its underground wiring project with the aim of enhancing urban aesthetics, ensuring public safety, and reducing risks along road areas.
