KATHMANDU, June 11: Everest Bank Limited (EBL) has officially launched a Nepal–India cross-border real-time peer-to-peer (P2P) remittance service through its mobile banking application, EBL Touch 24, in collaboration with an international cross-border remittance network.
With this new digital service, citizens of both Nepal and India can now send money instantly and securely in real time. The system enables seamless fund transfers between the two countries using Virtual Payment Address (VPA) and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) IDs.
Everest Bank adds features to Indo-Nepal Remit
Under the new arrangement, Indian users will be able to send up to NPR 200,000 per month to Nepal. Similarly, Nepali users will be able to send up to NPR 15,000 per day and up to NPR 100,000 per month to India through the platform.
The bank stated that the service has been introduced to simplify cross-border transactions and make remittance transfers faster, safer, and more convenient for users on both sides of the border.
Officials said the service operates in real time, allowing users to send and receive money instantly without lengthy processing delays. They also highlighted that the integration with India’s UPI system significantly improves interoperability between the two financial ecosystems.
