Flood damages army barracks guarding Super Seti Hydropower Project

The flood, triggered by recent heavy rainfall, completely destroyed three rooms of the under-construction prefabricated barracks, which had been built using corrugated metal sheets, according to Senior Havildar Tikaram Gurung of the Sardikhola Police Post.

KASKI, July 29 :  Flooding in the Seti River has damaged a Nepal Army barracks deployed to provide security for the Super Seti Hydropower Project in Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-1, Kaski.



The flood, triggered by recent heavy rainfall, completely destroyed three rooms of the under-construction prefabricated barracks, which had been built using corrugated metal sheets, according to Senior Havildar Tikaram Gurung of the Sardikhola Police Post.

Police said the flood swept away clothing and other belongings of the security personnel, although their weapons remained safe.


A police team reached the site on Tuesday to assess the damage. Gurung said information about the incident was received late because the area is geographically remote and difficult to access.
