The minister reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, Panchasheel, non-alignment and peaceful coexistence, adding that non-alignment should be understood as active engagement guided by Nepal's national interests rather than neutrality or isolation.

He also stressed the need to avoid viewing every issue solely through a geopolitical lens, saying Nepal's strategic location should be leveraged to expand trade, investment and regional cooperation. Recalling his recent visits to India and China, Khanal said discussions focused on practical cooperation and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Khanal added that protecting Nepali citizens abroad remains one of the government's top foreign policy priorities, noting that millions of Nepalis working overseas continue to contribute significantly to both Nepal's economy and their host countries.
