KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Former leaders of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party who joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) after the merger are showing a clear preference for Proportional Representation (PR) seats ahead of the upcoming elections.
For the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled on March 5, many ex-Bibeksheel leaders have submitted their names for the RSP’s preliminary PR list. In total, 353 individuals have expressed interest in contesting through the proportional system, with most prominent former Bibeksheel leaders among them.
Authoritarian, unilateral decisions made us part ways
The list includes former Bibeksheel Sajha Chairman Samiksha Baskota, Vice-Chair Prakash Chandra Pariyar and General Secretary Ranju Darshana. According to the RSP’s recently released preliminary list, Baskota and Darshana have been included under the Khas Arya category from Bagmati Province, while Pariyar is listed under the Dalit category from Koshi Province.
The merger of Bibeksheel Sajha Party with the RSP took place on Mangsir 14, with leaders emphasizing that they had joined the RSP unconditionally.
