MAKWANPUR, Sept 15: Four people were killed and four others seriously injured after a passenger electric vehicle plunged around 1,000 meters off the road in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality-2 of Makwanpur on Tuesday.
The vehicle, which was traveling from Kathmandu to Birgunj, met with the accident at around 2 pm along the Hetauda-Bhimfedi-Kulekhani-Phakhel road section, according to Makwanpur District Police Office Superintendent of Police Shyam Bahadur Khatri.
All four people who died were men and were pronounced dead at the scene. Police are working to identify the deceased.

Four others, including two women and two men, were seriously injured. Security personnel rescued the injured from the ravine and sent them to hospitals for treatment.
Two men and one woman were referred to Kathmandu for further treatment, while the other injured woman was taken to a hospital in Hetauda, police said.
A 21-member police team, including traffic police and led by SP Khatri, reached the accident site shortly after the incident.
Personnel from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Area Police Office Bhimfedi and District Traffic Police Office were also involved in the rescue operation, along with personnel from Khanikhet Police Post.
Security personnel said the rescue operation was challenging as the vehicle had fallen into a deep and difficult-to-access ravine approximately 1,000 meters below the road.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been established. Police said further investigation is underway.
