Gagan Thapa to lead manifesto drafting, Bishwa Prakash to head poll mobilisation committees

NC has decided to contest the March 5 election, forming a manifesto committee led by President Gagan Thapa and an election mobilisation team under Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma.

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: The first Central Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) led by President Gagan Thapa was held on Thursday, deciding to contest the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.



The meeting held at a banquet hall in Kupondole, Lalitpur, formed a manifesto drafting committee under Thapa’s leadership, newly-appointed party spokesperson Devaraj Chalise said.

“President Gagan Thapa, who has long been engaged in this task, will coordinate the manifesto drafting committee,” Chalise said, adding that the document would present concrete plans outlining what kind of country would be built in the years ahead in the post–Gen Z movement period.


The meeting also formed an election mobilisation committee led by Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, he said.
