KATHMANDU, July 11: The family of Ganesh Nepali, a 25-year-old ride-sharing driver from Mugu who died after setting himself on fire in Tripureshwor, has refused to receive his body, demanding accountability over the circumstances that led to his death.

The family has alleged that Nepali was driven to take the extreme step due to alleged mistreatment by government officials and Kathmandu Metropolitan City police. After the family declined to take custody of the body, Bir Hospital transferred it to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj on Friday night for preservation.
