Gold price moderates by Rs 3,300 per tola in a week

The price of gold in the domestic market decreased by Rs 3,300 per tola (11.6638 grams) amid persisting obstruction on movement through the Strait of Hermuz with ongoing tension of the US-Iran war.

KATHMANDU, July 11: The price of gold in the domestic market decreased by Rs 3,300 per tola (11.6638 grams) amid persisting obstruction on movement through the Strait of Hormuz with ongoing tension of the US-Iran war.



According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the market price of gold inclined to Rs 287,400 from Rs 290,700 per tola when the market closed the previous week. The gold price went through a straight fall for the consecutive five days of trading, while it gained Rs 2,700 on Friday, the last trading day of the week.

The price of silver also slid by Rs 105 last week, declining from Rs 4,615 to Rs 4,510 per tola.


According to FENEGOSIDA, the bullion prices in the review period were also affected by a number of factors like an increased tension between the USA and Iran, reduction in interest rate and central banks increasing gold reserves, among others.
