KATHMANDU, July 8: The government has appointed Govinda Bahadur Karki as the new chief secretary.
A Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to appoint Karki, who had been serving as secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, to the top-most bureaucratic post, said government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.

"The Cabinet has decided to appoint Govinda Bahadur Karki, secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as the chief secretary of the Government of Nepal," Pokharel said.
The Cabinet also approved the Educational Consultancy, Language Training and Preparatory Classes (Operation and Management) Regulations, 2083 BS, according to Minister Pokharel.
