Govt collects revenue of Rs 5.24 billion from land transactions in a month

The government collected revenue worth Rs 5.24 billion last month from land transactions across the country.

KATHMANDU, June 17: The government collected revenue worth Rs 5.24 billion last month from land transactions across the country.



According to the Department of Land Management and Records (DoLMR), all 138 land administration offices across the country collected the aforementioned amount of the revenue from land transactions during the period between mid-May and mid-June. The amount was Rs 1.02 billion less than the revenue worth Rs 6.26 billion collected under the heading in the previous month.

Out of the amount, Rs 286.63 million was generated from service tax. Similarly, Rs 2.78 billion was collected under land registration fee and Rs 2.12 billion was from capital gains tax.


According to the DoLMR, the Land Administration Office Dillibazaar last month collected the largest revenue of Rs 340 million, Tokha collected revenue of Rs 109.92 million and Chabahil collected revenue of Rs 314.21 million.


The government generated revenue of Rs 6.16 billion during mid-March and mid-April. The amounts were Rs 4.14 billion and Rs 5.99 billion, respectively, in the previous two months.
