He is one of only four individuals to receive an honorary doctorate from the university in 2025.
“This honour speaks volumes about how success can be achieved through dogged determination and seizing opportunities,” he said, expressing confidence that the recognition would help enhance Nepal’s reputation internationally.
Representing Nepal, Sunar has won several gold medals in national and international gymnastics competitions. He currently serves as a trainer for the World Free Running Parkour Federation in the USA.
The Nepali youth, now based in the USA, has also been working as a Parkour Ambassador since 2024, helping connect cultures across continents. He has performed stunts in over 50 Nepali, Hindi, and South Indian films.
Sunar also revealed plans to establish a professional Parkour Academy in Nepal in the future.
Parkour is a sport focused on moving efficiently through environments by running, jumping, climbing, and vaulting over obstacles using only the body.
