KATHMANDU, July 3: The Ministry of Health and Food Safety on Friday dismissed media reports claiming that Nepal is at risk of a hantavirus outbreak, describing them as unverified and baseless.

In a press statement, the Health Ministry said there has been no confirmed case of hantavirus infection or any community outbreak in the country. "The World Health Organization, which has been monitoring hantavirus globally, has stated that there is currently no public health risk related to the virus," the statement said.
