‘Hello Sarkar’ receives 69,724 complaints in one year

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the platform received 69,724 complaints in fiscal year 2025/26 (2082/83 BS), up from 16,568 complaints recorded in 2024/25 (2081/82 BS). This represents an increase of 53,156 complaints in a single year.

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: The number of complaints registered through the government’s Hello Sarkar grievance redressal platform increased by 321 percent in the last fiscal year compared to the previous year.



According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the platform received 69,724 complaints in fiscal year 2025/26 (2082/83 BS), up from 16,568 complaints recorded in 2024/25 (2081/82 BS). This represents an increase of 53,156 complaints in a single year.


Krishna Sapkota, Under Secretary at the Hello Sarkar Section, said the sharp rise in complaints since the formation of the current government reflects growing public trust and confidence in the administration.


“The increase in complaints indicates that people have greater expectations from the government,” he said.

Data from the past five fiscal years show that a total of 124,581 complaints have been registered through Hello Sarkar. Of these, 69,724 complaints were received in fiscal year 2025/26 alone, accounting for around 56 percent of the five-year total.


Between fiscal years 2021/22 (2078/79 BS) and 2024/25 (2081/82 BS), the platform received a combined 54,857 complaints, compared to 69,724 complaints in the last fiscal year alone.


Over 50,000 complaints in three months


Hello Sarkar received more than 50,000 complaints over the past three months.


According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, 50,721 complaints were registered during the period, of which 39,177 have been addressed.


Under Secretary Sapkota said 18,542 complaints were fully resolved, while 547 remained unopened.


Similarly, 1,642 complaints have been reviewed, 1,327 are under process, 6,056 have been assigned but not yet reviewed, and 2,446 complaints were found to be incomplete, irrelevant or unassigned.


The office also reported receiving 50,196 phone calls through the Hello Sarkar toll-free service, with 40,016 calls responded to.


According to the office, 9,610 complaints were registered between Aug. 1 and Aug. 18 of the current fiscal year, of which 6,601 have already been resolved.


The office noted that complaints received through social media platforms, Viber, WhatsApp, email and other channels are not included in these figures.
