Home Minister Aryal arrives in Janakpurdham ahead of Madhesh Province–level security conference focused on election preparedness.

JANAKPURDHAM, Jan 13: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal arrived in Janakpurdham on Tuesday to attend the Madhesh Province–level security conference, which will begin on Wednesday.



Home Minister Aryal was received at Janakpur Airport by Dhanusha Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luintel, Assistant CDO Umesh Prasad Dahal, provincial chiefs of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, heads of the National Investigation Department in the province, district police officials and senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Held annually as per a regular schedule, the Madhesh conference is the final province-level security meeting of this year and will conclude on January 14.


The series of province-level security conferences for this year began in Rupandehi of Lumbini Province on November 25 and will formally conclude with the Madhesh conference on January 14. The conferences are jointly organised each year by the federal Ministry of Home Affairs and the respective provincial governments.


This year’s security conference is focused on reviewing the overall security situation across the province and districts, internal preparedness, and security strategies ahead of the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives scheduled for March 5.
