Home minister visits Bhotekoshi crash site to encourage rescue teams

KATHMANDU, July 26: Home Minister Sudan Gurung visited the Bhotekoshi River crash site on Sunday to encourage security personnel involved in the search for the driver of an electric vehicle that plunged into the river on Saturday evening.



According to Chief District Officer Narendra Pariyar, security personnel from all three security agencies, along with divers and equipped with 10 drones, have been deployed to search for the missing driver, 22-year-old Sabin Tamang of Kalika Rural Municipality-3, Tallo Dharapani, following an on-site assessment.

The District Disaster Management Committee is coordinating the search and rescue operation.


The committee said rescue efforts have been hampered by the site’s deep gorge, muddy river water and massive boulders along the riverbank.
