KATHMANDU, July 1: The Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) has held a clause-by-clause discussions on the preamble and various sections of the 'National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081.'
In today's meeting convened at the committee's meeting hall in Singha Durbar, the committee members suggested mentioning in the proposal separate provisions for reliable testing in determining serious crimes, classifying crimes, and conducting effective study and research.
They said that since technology-based crimes are increasing, the bill should include testing and investigation of digital crimes along with biological and physical ones. Members mentioned that the law should set proper arrangements for having adequate human resources and laboratories, ending the need to wait for testing after sample collection.
