Meanwhile, Surkhet District Court ordered four minors accused in the case to be sent to detention for trial. The bench, led by Judge Deepak Dhakal, directed that the minors be placed in a juvenile rehabilitation home while proceedings continue.
The court found that the victim had suffered severe sexual assault, with extensive injuries and heavy bleeding leading to her death. One of the accused had claimed the sexual activity was consensual, but the court found this inconsistent with the evidence.
Based on police investigation reports, the District Government Attorney’s Office filed charges against all four for rape and murder. Citing the severity of the case and preliminary evidence, the court confirmed that the accused would remain in custody until the investigation is complete and the trial progresses.
