KATHMANDU, July 1: Shailendra Jha has been appointed as the advisor to the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Jha has a long experience working in the fields of education, technology, public policy and educational innovation and is active in education system reform, policy making, youth empowerment and technology-friendly education.

Prior to this, Jha was working as a board member at the Urban Planning Commission of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, overseeing education, technology and social innovation. He had led the policy making, planning, resource management and monitoring of the education department, social development department and research and innovation related departments of the metropolis.
Jha also worked as the operations director and recruitment manager at ‘Teach for Nepal’ for about eight years, playing an important role in institutional strategy, human resource management, teacher selection system, leadership development, communication and partnership expansion. He is the founding chair of BITS Ladder International Pvt. Ltd.
