KATHMANDU, Sept 15: The water level of the Kamala River in Sindhuli has crossed the warning level, prompting authorities to urge residents in downstream and flood-prone areas to remain highly alert until Wednesday morning.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) said the river’s flow was continuing to rise and advised residents in vulnerable areas to take precautionary measures.

According to the DHM, the water level at the Kamala River gauge station in Ranibas, Sindhuli, was recorded above the warning level at 5:20 pm on Monday.
As the water level continues to rise, the risk has increased in downstream areas of Sindhuli as well as settlements that are vulnerable to annual flooding.
The DHM has urged residents living near the river and in flood-prone areas to stay in safe locations and remain vigilant throughout the night to protect themselves from possible flooding.
