KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Yagya Mani Neupane has drawn the government’s attention to relief supplies intended for flood victims that have been left stranded at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, Neupane said relief materials provided by foreign donor agencies and countries were sitting in the airport’s cargo terminal and urged the government to deliver them to the affected areas.

Recalling that 20 containers of supplies provided by foreign countries during the COVID-19 pandemic had gone to waste, he expressed concern that large quantities of supplies donated by foreign countries, which he said could meet Nepal’s needs for up to a year, were again being left at the airport.
He urged the government to distribute the materials based on the needs of people in the affected areas.
“The materials should be properly managed. It is not good for supplies donated by foreign countries to remain stranded at the airport. If they are needed, they should be delivered to the concerned areas,” he said. “We should not have to hear that people are in need of relief while supplies meant to provide assistance to them are being left stranded at the airport.”
